My thoughts about “Girl Code”:
“I really enjoyed planning the event. I got to meet some really great, super friendly people. I thought our event went really well. I was telling my family and friends about it for weeks afterwards. I was pleasantly surprised to see such a wide range of ideas on some of the issues we discussed and I liked hearing everybody’s thoughts and ideas. Everybody was really engaged and excited which was cool to see. During our segment on beauty and self-confidence, some of the girls said they started tearing up and said that they thought the videos and discussions were really moving and influential. I was really excited that we were able to have such a profound effect on them. I loved getting the opportunity to work with everybody at ICCI and seeing all of our planning turn into such a fabulous event. Of course the Chipotle catering was great too!”

My thoughts about Girl Code:
“Planning the event and then seeing it transform was an incredible experience. It was amazing seeing girls from all over the area engaging in topics that are sometimes difficult to talk about and sometimes not even talked about at all. For me, allowing young girls to have a safe space to talk about these important issues was something that will be valuable for the rest of my life.”
