What is ICCI?

The Institute for Creative Community Initiatives (ICCI) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth, adults, and families in vulnerable communities to address issues confronting their physical and mental health and overall well-being, through innovative and sustainable strategies that focus on providing community supports and adopting healthy lifestyles.

At ICCI we also realize that culture, ethnicity and language can mediate the behavior of children, adolescents and adults in numerous ways, and as a result can significantly impact the delivery and effectiveness of community, health or social service agency-based programs. Through ICCI’s Innovation Center for Multicultural Health Initiatives (ICMH), our team focuses on improving the quality of care for vulnerable populations – especially communities of color.

We believe respecting one’s cultural health beliefs is essential to achieving success as it relates to population health. To ensure such a broad approach, our team includes staff that reflect the full diversity of modern American society, with expertise in: cultural competence training and consultancy; health literacy for vulnerable and disadvantaged communities; community-based healthcare and resources aimed at prevention and early identification of physical and behavioral health needs; basic and translational research, and more.

ICCI empowers its customers with education and resources as they navigate the full range of health care services – from mental health treatment to the health insurance marketplace – and as they work to build and sustain bright futures.
